Elinor
Benedict won the May Swenson Poetry Award with her first poetry
collection, All That Divides Us. She has also published five
chapbooks of poetry, several short stories, and numerous interviews,
reviews, and newspaper features. Her poems have recently appeared
in Poetry, Shenandoah, Indiana Review, The
Florida Review,
and Dogwood. She is currently working on a new collection called
Late News from the Wilderness.
Benedict holds an M.A.
from Wright State University in Ohio and an M.F.A. from Vermont
College. She was the founding editor of
Passages North literary magazine in the 1980’s. A native
Tennessean, she now lives in Michigan, where, for several years,
she led a writers’ workshop at Bay de Noc Community College. |
