Anca
Vlasopolos' works include: No Return Address: A Memoir
of Displacement;
a poetry collection, Through the Straits, at Large; a chapbook,
The Evidence of Spring; and Missing Members, a detective novel.
Her short stories and poems have appeared in numerous journals
and literary magazines. For her memoir, she received the YMCA
Writer's Voice Grant for Creative Non-Fiction in 2001. She
has also been awarded the Wayne State University Board of Governors
Award, and the Arts Achievement Award, both in 2002.
Dr. Vlasopolos received her B.A. in English from Wayne State
University in 1970, her M.A. in Comparative Literature in
1971 from the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. in Comparative
Literature from the University of Michigan in 1977. She currently
lives in Gross Pointe, Michigan, and teaches at Wayne State
University.
